The interview with the wacky guys of Turmion Kätilöt was something that I had been waiting with ants in my pants, since I had no idea what to expect. I just had a tip that I shouldn’t ask anything normal. That’s a tip of my kind!

Heli: During the gig you asked the audience to show their asses, how many did you see then?

MC Raaka Pee: Now we saw about 5 including my own ass, which I saw mentally.

Heli: And how many asses have you seen at best?

MC Raaka Pee: Oh we have seen numerous. It was somewhere in central Finland.

Heli: Spellgoth, what’s your favorite costume on the stage? Latex, plastic wrap, human secretion or something else?

Spellgoth: Favorite is definitely rubber. [Wearing rubber pants at the moment]

Heli: Isn’t it difficult to squeeze in and out of that?

Spellgoth: It’s pretty easy to put them on but sometimes it can be a bit challenging to get out of them. But if my lovely spouse [points at a charming blond next to him] helps, I’ll get out of the rubber outfit in no time!

Heli: Which one of you guys is the most feminine and why?

[MC Raaka Pee, DQ and Spellgoth points at Master Bates, who’s crawling on the ground, immediately]

MC Raaka Pee: It’s definitely Master Bates. He likes to wear all kinds of scarves and girly accessories like that all the time.

Heli: Spellgoth, do you truly like pain?

Spellgoth: Well, in a way. It’s a thing for the shows. It gives me extra energy and a boost of adrenaline.

Heli: In a scale of 1 to 10, to what extent do you consider yourselves “jerk country boys”?

MC Raaka Pee: I’d say 8. After all, being a jerk country boy is only a positive thing. It stands for kindness and an easy going attitude.

Heli: And how gay are you, from 1 to 10? In the end, there’s certain kind of gay erotica in your shows.

MC Raaka Pee: It’s true, but we’re all straight guys in the band. We’re so straight that it’s almost close to gayness. We are also good friends but there’s nothing gay in that. But the gay thing is only a thing for the show.

Spellgoth: Yep, we’re straight. Especially since I have such a beautiful woman.

Heli: When you play the song “Kärsi” [suffering] at the gigs, you often take a dude to the stage to be whipped. Why don’t you ever take a female there?

MC Raaka Pee: Things have got a bit more rough lately so it might have consequences. Plus, the males are climbing to the stage more eagerly.

Heli: Have you ever thought of letting a female spank you then?

MC Raaka Pee: Naah, that stuff doesn’t interest me at all. Being dominated isn’t fascinating.

Heli: How about Masters of Metal in Tampere? I watched a video of the final song of the gig [Kärsi], and it seemed that the guy who was on stage didn’t get any whipping!

Spellgoth: Oh he got whipped. In videos and pictures it might seem that there wouldn’t be any whipping, but that doesn’t mean that there wouldn’t be any pain. There can be pain without bruises or blood.

Heli: I’ve heard that you’re quite popular in Japan, is it true?

Spellgoth: That’s what we have heard too. For example, when the first Record shop Äx [famous cd shop in Finland] was opened, a guy named Mr. Hiroshi from Japan bought every single Turmion Kätilöt cd from that store. The address was Mr Hiroshi Tower. Must have been quite a man since the address was a tower named after him.
Of course it would be awesome to go for a gig in Japan. I’ve been exploring the chances for that, but it’s naturally a question of money. Anyway, it would be interesting to visit the country in any case.

Heli: Ok, thanks for the interview and see you soon!

Reporter’s note: Master Bates was distracting me constantly by peeping under my skirt and making inappropriate suggestions. MC Raaka Pee and Spellgoth had warned me about him and he sure proved their warnings were right!

L’intervista con quei folli dei Turmion Kätilöt era qualcosa che aspettavo con le formiche nei pantaloni, dato che non avevo idea di cosa aspettarmi. Avevo solo ricevuto un suggerimento: non avrei dovuto chiedere niente di normale. Per quel che mi riguarda è un diavolo di suggerimento!

Heli: Durante il concerto avete chiesto al pubblico di mostrarvi i loro fondoschiena, quanti ne avete visti?

MC Raaka Pee: Questa volta ne abbiamo visti 5, incluso il mio, che ho visto mentalmente.

Heli: E quanti ne avete mai visti massimo?

MC Raaka Pee: Oh ne abbiamo visti un sacco. E’ stato da qualche parte nel centro della Finlandia.

Heli: Spellgoth, qual’è il tuo costume da palco preferito? Latex, rotolo di plastica, sudore umano o altro?

Spellgoth: Il mio preferito è decisamente gomma sintetica. (indossa pantaloni di gomma al momento, ndr)

Heli: Non è difficile indossarli e toglierli?

Spellgoth: E’ piuttosto semplice metterli, ma a volte può essere difficile uscirne. Ma se la mia adorata compagna (indica una affascinante bionda lì accanto, ndr) mi aiuta, ne uscirò in men che non si dica!

Heli: Chi di voi ragazzi è il più effemminato e perchè?

(MC Raaka Pee, DQ e Spellgoth puntano il dito verso Master Bates, che si abbassa a terra immediatamente, ndr)

MC Raaka Pee: E’ sicuramente Master Bates. Gli piace indossare tutte quelle specie di veli ed accessori femminili tutte le volte.

Heli: Spellgoth, ti piace veramente provare dolore?

Spellgoth: In un certo senso. E’ per fare spettacolo. Mi dà energie extra e una spinta di adrenalina.

Heli: In scala da 1 a 10, fino a che punto vi considerate dei "campagnoli cazzuti"?

MC Raaka Pee: Direi 8. Dopotutto essere dei campagnoli cazzuti è solo una cosa positiva. Rappresenta gentilezza e un’attitudine un pò sempliciotta.

Heli: E quanto siete gay da 1 a 10? In fondo nei vostri show c’è un pò una specie di erotismo gay.

MC Raaka Pee: E’ vero, ma siamo tutti ragazzi etero nella band. Siamo così etero che è quasi vicino all’essere gay. Siamo anche buoni amici ma non c’è niente di gay in questo. E’ solo una cosa che fa parte dei nostri show.

Spellgoth: Esatto, siamo etero. Specialmente dato che ho una donna così bella.

Heli: Quando suonata "Kärsi" (sofferenza, ndr) nei vostri concerti, prendete spesso un ragazzo dal pubblico per essere frustato sul palco. Perchè non scegliete mai una femmina?

MC Raaka Pee: La situazione è diventata un pò più difficile ultimamente, perciò ci potrebbero essere delle conseguenze. Inoltre, i maschi salgono sul palco molto più facilmente.

Heli: Avete mai pensato invece di lasciare una ragazza sculacciare voi?

MC Raaka Pee: Naah, quelle cose non mi interessano affatto. Essere dominati non è per nulla affascinante.

Heli: Cosa mi dite del Masters of Metal di Tampere? Ho visto un video della canzone conclusiva ("Kärsi", ndr) e sembra che il ragazzo sul palco non sia stato frustato per niente!

Spellgoth: Oh lo è stato eccome. Nei video e nelle foto può sembrare che non ci sia stata nessuna fustigazione, ma non significa che non ci sia stato dolore. Si può provare dolore anche senza bruciature o sangue.

Heli: Ho sentito che siete piuttosto popolari in Giappone, è vero?

Spellgoth: E’ quello che hanno detto anche a noi. Ad esempio quando è aperto il primo Record shop Äx (celebre negozio di cd finlandese, ndr) un uomo di nome Mr. Hiroshi dal Giappone comprò ogni singolo cd dei Turmion Kätilöt da quel negozio. L’indirizzo era Mr. Hiroshi Tower. Dev’essere stato qualcuno d’importante dato che ha una torre che porta il suo nome.
Ovviamente sarebbe fantastico poter fare un concerto in Giappone. Ho cercato di sondare il terreno a riguardo, ma naturalmente è una questione di soldi. Comunque sarebbe ad ogni modo interessante visitare il paese.

Heli: Ok, grazie per l’intervista e a presto!
