Ajattara + Pressure Points - 7/4/2010 - Dante's Highlight - Helsinki

--- ENGLISH VERSION ---

Last moments of Tuska, you could say, were for me at Dante's once again. This time the goodie was all local music. The fact that the club was very crowded surprised me, since usually Sunday's after-parties aren't so popular, to blame the hangover/über drunkness or laziness of the people. As the new promise Pressure Points began with its show, the place was really full. Good for the band. Being unfamiliar with Pressure Points, I wasn't really expecting anything of the gig. Their positively-toned progressive-melodic metal sounded pretty nice. It didn't interest me much though, but it was ok beer-drinking music. At some point though, it sounded a bit too thick and soulless. I hope they'll obtain a bit more invidual touch to their sound in the future.

Gigs of Ajattara are always interesting, since you never know when the figurehead Pasi Koskiken could decide that this f****ing sucks and to throw the microphone to the corner. Sometimes we have even bets about that with my friends. With all the love, nevertheless! After all, Ajattara has been one of my favorite bands since Satan knows.
That evening they had so much audience that I would've been surprised if there would be any kind of “grumpiness” in the band. The gig started nicely with songs such as “Antakaa Elää” and “Kauna”, the latter of which sounded surprisingly “pop-ish”. For the joy of the crowd (at least in my case) , Ajattara played also the song “Ilon Päivä”, which they don't play often. The voice of Koskinen sounded as animal-like and beautiful as usually, and the fact that they have nowadays one more back-up vocalist, Mynni from Sotajumala, gives the band a bit extra-something. In general the gig was very pleasant, and no microphone throwing happened.

--- VERSIONE ITALIANA ---
